Hygienist Highlight – Stephanie Estrada

TJ8C3112I live in: El Segundo.

I attended dental hygiene school at: West Los Angeles College.

I became a dental hygienist because: I always loved going to the dentist growing up and when looking into a career change and going to dental school a retired dentist suggested I become a dental hygienist instead, because I had the personality for it and it would be a lot less stressful and more flexible than being a dentist.

The thing I enjoy most about being a dental hygienist is: developing strong patient-provider relationships, so the patients have fun, but at the same time, they know they are receiving the best care and are genuinely cared for.

My mentor is: Dr. Calleros, since they day I got hired she has provided me with a platform to continually grow professionally and has always shown me enormous support and encouragement over the years.

My favorite oral hygiene aid: Interproximal Brush, they are really great for removing plaque and preventing build up, especially in the bottom front teeth, where so many people build up calculus.

Hygienist Highlight – Laurie Monroe

I Live in: Redondo Beach

I attended dental hygiene school at: University of Michigan

The thing I enjoy most about being a dental hygienist is: helping patients that have dental anxiety become more comfortable and have an enjoyable experience at the Dentist.

I became a dental hygienist because: I always admired my dental hygienist growing up and thought it seemed like a great way to help people and meet a lot of different people.

My mentor is: Wendy Kerschbaum, she was the director of dental hygiene while I attended UM. I can still email her questions!

My favorite oral hygiene aid: Sonicare Toothbrush

Happy Boss’s Day

IMG_0004

Today is Boss’s Day!  To show our gratitude, we gifted our amazing Bosses, Dr. Calleros and Dr. Moser with Trilogy Spa gift cards and flowers from our favorite flower shop, Natural Simplicity.

We are honored to work with two of the hardest working dentists out there.  What a difference it makes in our team dynamic, when our leaders continually set such great examples and are gracious supporters of us.  We are all so grateful that they provide a platform for us to grow and develop both professionally and personally, thus allowing us to provide the highest level of care to our patients daily.

THANK YOU!  Happy Boss’s Day!

I live in: El Segundo.

I attended dental hygiene school at: West Los Angeles College.

I became a dental hygienist because: I truly love dentistry and wanted to work with people one on one. I also loved the flexibility to work part-time so I can still be a mom.

The thing I enjoy most about being a dental hygienist is: meeting someone new everyday and being able to give them one new piece of oral hygiene instruction that they may not have heard before.

My mentor is: my aunt Patti, she was the first female to go to college in our family. She helped me get through college and pushed me to pursue my goal of becoming an RDH.

My favorite oral hygiene aid: Tongue Scraper: it can help reduce bad breathe, stain and plaque build up. My favorite for all the coffee and wine drinkers.
